Tilda's new collection, Pie in the Sky, will be out in a couple of weeks and as soon as I saw it I knew it would work perfectly with my latest pattern, Kindergarten...
You may remember this quilt appearing in Today's Quilter as Back to School some eighteen months ago - which means I made it two years ago, where does the time go? - so it was high time I reimagined it in a current collection. Kindergarten is made with a Layer Cake (forty 10" squares) and as Tilda's collections now include Layer Cakes they're a perfect match. Just pick a background and your favourite print for the border.
I also used Pie in the Sky to recolour my Danish Hearts table runner, using the greens and reds in the collection (handily available in separate colour-themed Fat Quarter bundles)...
Aaand Richla at Got Kwilts asked me to recolour Tulips from Amsterdam in Pie in the Sky for her, as she'll be offering it as a lovely new kit (hurray!). This time I combined the greens with the cerise & mustard FQ bundle and I really think this collection captures the spirit of my original scrappy version...
Kindergarten is available right now as a PDF pattern (Paper Patterns are being printed next week, so look out for them in the shop soon). Both the Danish Hearts and Tulips from Amsterdam patterns are already available in the shop in Paper and PDF versions.
Happy playing, I mean, sewing,
Nicola xx
